I am planning a self-hosting build and am currently trying to decide between a full Docker setup (I'm comfortable installing the OS, but Docker is still relatively new to me) or exploring options with a bit more user-friendliness, such as Yunohost or CasaOS. I don't mind working at the command line, but additional helpful interfaces might make the experience feel less like a second IT job. If anyone has experience with this I'd appreciate your insight.

  • Fabian McMütend on 🌐 : @techlifeweb Hi! I started my #SelfHosting with #Yunohost and switched to docker later. YH was not easy to set up on my raspi as I did not want it reachable from outside my network (only via WireGuard) - which seems to be the default for YH. I had to configure each service I activated which was more difficult than doing it with docker. That's why I restarted with fresh RaspiOS+docker. I feel much more in control & the docker instructions of every service I encountered are easy to follow/modify. selfhosting yunohost
