A lot of people seem to consider Obsidian a very complex tool and often rule it out when looking for a simpler solution.

I understand where it comes from as a lot of content about Obsidian is about building complicated systems with tons of plugins.

But you don't need any of that. You can write plain text or Markdown notes with a good editor experience — and it's cross-platform!
