  • James Britt on 🐘 : @techlifeweb I've been using that instead of Pinboard now for a few weeks. I disagree that it should not be used to replace a bookmarking site, nor Read It Later. Tags and search make finding stuff easy, and it's not worse than a bookmarking site. Having a local markdown version of the site means I can add my own notes, plus I don't need to worry if a page goes 404 or paywalled.
  • Scott Kingery on 🐘 : @jamesbritt valid points. I think if you take time to do a little maintenance of your clip (tagging, filing in a folder if that's your thing) then what you are saying makes sense. If you just kind of save everything with no thought to it then it becomes a kind of junk drawer.
  • Ton Zijlstra on 🌐 : @techlifeweb When I clip (based on list of interests), I have the template set up so that I'll add what I found interesting / what info-value I saw before the clipped item. This may include tags or a link to an existing note I associate it with. This curation allows me to search clippings in my own words, rather than the author's. I also start everything with searching my notes and clippings. This makes things surface again, sometimes leading to moving things into proper notes. #pkm pkm
